video "Memo-walk" (7'24")
Video based on the film
"Yaroslavl.Ok" for the project "Give yourself back to the city", which took place in
within the framework of the festival "Architecture of Movement". The initial impetus for the project was the realization
the fact that often the city itself is foreign to city residents, it
doesn't belong. They timidly shuttle between home and place of work,
closing themselves off from the urban space around them. Accumulating
alienation from the visual litter and discomfort of the streets requires
positive resolution. By changing this state of affairs we
got concerned. They decided to launch the project together with Yulia Krivtsova in
Yaroslavl as part of the “Architecture of Movement” festival.
Project
is a consistent development of the ideas presented in the film
“YaroslavlOK” (Inkenas/Arfeev + Krivtsova/Kremnev), filmed
in May 2012. Considering the city as a metropolis (in original Greek
sense of the word as a native, mother city) the organizers turned to
people
born and raised in Yaroslavl and left it with an offer
symbolic and/or real return.
“Give back to the city” allows you to renew and expand dialogue
between current and former residents of Yaroslavl, discover new topics
belonging, show solidarity with renewal
cities. There will be an exhibition area in the central part of the city,
which will allow for the exchange of knowledge and impressions. The city is ready to receive
gifts from the inhabitants who left it. Project initiators, participants and visitors
will carefully restore the previous ones and
establish new connections, together build a city suitable for living in the very
broadly understood.
The message of the project “Give yourself back to the city” is synonymous with the slogan of the new mayor of Yaroslavl “I will return
city for the people." These are two walking friends
towards a friend of the stream. They have matured on their own and are ready to meet.
The project organizers believe that their initiative can be proof of this.
