About us
The Visual Practices team grew out of collaboration during the period
2009-2011
two authors - Alexander Arfeev and Zoe Inkenas
(objects, installations). The new format took shape at the beginning of 2012 based on
hybrid practices that combine theory,
video, performance, documentary.
The concept of “practice” in the title includes two aspects. First:
practice, by definition, is an activity. Constant implementation of ideas and images
through the socialization of art. Second: practice as a continuation of theory, inclusion
cultural and visual studies into a single field.
The team's assets include works created jointly with Moscow
by post-academic composers (Gallery of Contemporary Music), film
"Yaroslavl.ok",
sociocultural projects “Village Park” and “Give yourself back to the city.”
The site also presents Zoe Inkenas' solo projects from 1991-2009.
