The new stage is characterized as “project”, accompanied by theorization and conceptualization.
"Figures of rotation" is a development of this direction. The way in which the sculptures are made indicates the reason for the appearance of the form - the rotating contour of the profile. A plastic bodily form appears from such a non-plastic material as sand, the movement and instability of which deny any form.
The works are twisted like clay on a potter's wheel, but retain their connection with the ground, the base. The material is not removed from the natural environment. A new form grows out of formless material.
The entire project is designed in opposition to the traditional production and display of sand sculptures, eliminating conventional ideas about place, form and material.
This cycle of works reveals and confirms their new qualities: temporary, quick, renewable
Deprived of ponderous stability, endowed with a temporary existence, quickly produced, sculptures are easily renewed from available material in any place at the discretion of the author or viewers.
The unstable, unstable state of the “rotation figures” and the fickle, changeable nature of the wind, sand and waves constitute the symbolic unity of the sculptures of this cycle and the natural environment.
