TOWNSTEP (8'00")
Video
“Townstep” based on Oleg Paiberdin’s piece SOB OUT for clarinet quartet
created as a special program for the GAM-Ensemble project (together with
Moscow Philharmonic and NCCA as part of the festival “John Cage.
Silent Presence").
Free plastic method
associations of performer Marina Tenorio were influenced by several
reasons. Title of the play (from English to say, sobbing with sobs)
directed towards reaching the threshold of emotional overwhelm and going beyond
him. In the process of creating a mosaic plot, themes were used
turning on the “internal storm”, “search for an invisible foundation”,
“feeling, recognizing the body of the city”, “violation of the trajectory by gravity
movement."
The motif of difficult movement, overcoming slowdown before a new phase, became key to the entire video.
Duration
screen time exceeds the duration of the play. Video
envelops the music, includes it within itself, immerses it inside, allowing
try to get out as best you can.
Smooth appearance of the musical flow, smooth flow and shallowing at the end (see.
sound diagram SOB OUT on SOUNDCLOUD), continues in space
soundlessness, showing life forms beyond the musical tone. Also in
screen space contains combinations of external elements (city) and
internal (room of the Chamber Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic), where
there are objective reincarnations of the heroine Marina Tenorio.
